Established in 1995 as one of South Africa’s first digitally capable marketing service providers, Hero is an independent and empowered full service agency comprising nine specialist service divisions that work together to create solutions encompassing every aspect of modern marketing.
Perhaps most uniquely, Hero incorporates a high-level business consulting capacity which enables a deep operational and strategic understanding of client businesses – ensuring every creative marketing solution is based on accurate organisational insights and designed to generate measurable business outcomes.
This ability to wholly understand and manage projects, from Insight to Solution to Implementation, drives our commitment to full ownership of the process and results.
We are a proudly, wholly South African owned, BBBEE level 2 company.
The modern world is constantly changing. As communication activists we push to be in tune with what’s happening around us so that we can create work that truly resonates with our clients’ audiences.
Our logo reflects this by using an algorithm that interprets real-time data from the news, social media, the weather and the world of finance and turns it into a fresh design, every 12 hours.
Our unique INSIGHTS, SOLUTIONS and IMPLEMENTATION approach to communication delivers an exponential return on investment, stickier customer relationships with brands and deeper insights and learnings for future projects.
New customer data feeds back into the insights phase to create richer communication that builds meaningful customer relationships.
We can help your organisation connect better with the people you are talking to. We transform data into actionable ideas. We help to see new opportunities. And we help increase the speed and effectiveness of creating new marketing and communication solutions.
At Hero, we are vocal advocates for the diversification and transformation of the creative industry, so we partnered with the Cape Town Creative Academy to launch Hero Academy, a bursary programme which helps talented young kids from underprivileged backgrounds get the training and skills they need for a successful career in our industry. The CTCA is a tertiary education institute that develops and amplifies Afrocentric culture and their teaching style instills in every student the authenticity of being African.
This year’s Hero Academy recipient is Buhle, who grew up in Khayelitsha. He is now in his second year of Communication Design at CTCA and has already exhibited his work in galleries in Woodstock. Without a bursary, Buhle’s dream of becoming a creative would never have been realised and the industry would have lost out on yet another talented upstarter. Our diversity is what shapes this industry so we are proud to help students like Buhle realise their potential and showcase their talent, not just to South Africa but also the world.
Hero Academy also includes a three-month internship to help students gain real-life working experience, and since its inception we have already lined up our ambitious 2018 candidates.
At Hero Digital, we are proud to be part of the Code for Cape Town programme, an initiative growing young women into powerful game changers! These inspiring young women are currently in their final years of school and are part of a 3-year programme teaching girls basic web building skills and exposing them to opportunities in the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) sector.
