THE BRIEF

To create a stand for the Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon expo that would highlight Old Mutual’s status as the headline sponsor, while also talking to the brand’s vision of being the leaders in advice.

INSIGHT

While Old Mutual specializes in giving financial advice, visitors to the expo would be focused on the race and it wasn’t the right time to sell financial solutions.

SOLUTION

We turned the stand into an advice hub – a space where visitors could get the advice they needed to run their best race. This included advice on the route, nutrition, training and recovery.

IMPLEMENTATION

For the centerpiece of the stand we built a mini Table Mountain and then surrounded the stand with a track mimicking the race route itself. Visitors could visit specific advice points as they worked their way around the track. Stationary bike and treadmill challenges added fun and excitement.

RESULTS

The stand was incredibly well supported with visitors saying that the experience was exciting, different and unexpected from a financial brand like Old Mutual.
